Drew Charging Puerto Escondido (photo-Angelo Cordero)

Drew just got some great tubes down in Puerto Escondido, The Mexican Pipeline! He got a wild hair & decided to enter into a stand up paddleboard contest. To check the scores, click on Duane DeSoto’s blog

Puerto is on the southern Pacific coast of Mexico in the state of Oaxaca – about 220 miles south of Acapulco. Playa Zicatela is known for it’s huge barrels — Drew’s always loved those Puerto barrels….

Continental Airlines IS SO MESSED UP!  BIG TIME!

We were flying home Monday from Myrtle Beach. Our first flight was 6 hours late, so we missed our connecting flight to LAX in Newark. Continental guy “Christopher” says “oh, we can’t get you out of Newark until Wednesday!”

And then proceeded to tell us that Continentals “only obligation to us is to get passengers from point A to point B safely” and not to do anything else, like, say, get us a place to sleep?

Oh, but our LUGGAGE made it to LA on Monday. So, we had to wear the same clothes for a few days…..BUT WE MADE THE BEST OF IT IN REGULAR BROPHY STYLE – WE rented a car, drove to Michael Jordan’s house in Rumsen, and spent the next day in N.Y. City! (more…)

Our last tour stop on the East Coast for 2008! Drew’s tired of painting, so he tricked Al McWhite into showing up and then put him to work!

Al was cool about it, though. Although we haven’t heard from him since…….

Locals hung out for the demo…..Cheddar, the artist (check out his myspace page here), John the grommie surfer musician and Tate, Coastal Carolina new guy and Bonefish Grill worker.

This has got to be our best day this summer! We left Hobcaw to go Kyaking in the North Inlet to a desolate barrier island called North Island.

Scott and Deanna Benston took us on this trip. They have these excursions you can sign up for through Surf the Earth. There’s usually a waiting list – now I know why! It’s amazing, the scenery, the wildlife, the experience.

Check out photos – and the SHARK we saw! Click on more: (more…)
