Question from Richard Barnes:
“I must tell you I enjoyed the DVD.
I noticed that you use white primer as a base is there any difference between white or black primer? like your guitar; you had a white primer, I am wondering if you used your black paint marker to cover the rest?”
Every project is different. In the case of the guitar in the video, it was a flat black finish and I probably could have painted over that, but I decided to do a white primer just so the colors would pop more. It’s an extra step, but sometimes extra steps are worth doing.
In the case of the Surf Dragon (Photo above), I just lightly sanded with 400 grit sandpaper and painted right on the finish.
