Pamela
Our workshop was held at Todd & Cate Sutz’ Island Inspired Surf Shop in Myrtle Beach. We had people travel from as far as Miami and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for it! (Thanks for making the trip, Pamela and George)
A 6 hour workshop just isn’t enough time! People who came had a blast, they learned hands-on from Drew how to fine tune their paint pen techniques. Most of the people are talented, seasoned artists! Read on: (more…)

Our last tour stop on the East Coast for 2008! Drew’s tired of painting, so he tricked Al McWhite into showing up and then put him to work!
Al was cool about it, though. Although we haven’t heard from him since…….
Locals hung out for the demo…..Cheddar, the artist (check out his myspace page here), John the grommie surfer musician and Tate, Coastal Carolina new guy and Bonefish Grill worker.

Surf City has some great surfboards. And they just scored another one with Drew’s artwork!
Some girl named Julie Jesiolowski helped Drew finish the board. She was a fun, spunky surfer girl who’s going to school to be a biologist….she has plans to eradicate disease in fetuses….kinda made us feel stupid! I mean, our biggest goal is to just catch a good surf day…..
Mike Barden, the owner, had a hot dog cart giving out free hot dogs, which stoked everyone out because, well, to get free stickers and hot dogs in one day is pretty awesome. READ ON: (more…)

We came, we painted, we kicked ass! Drew painted a board for Mark Allison’s shop - he’ll proudly hang it somewhere conspicuous….
Wiggs ran around and told people what to do while our neice Sophia tried to look cool….(By the way, she’s single and cute and surfs good, but I’ll kick your butt if you ask her out)
Jenn Parker from The Sun News came and took video and will be writing an article for tomorrow’s SUN NEWS Business Section. Go to this link to read it. READ ON: (more…)

What Went Down: It was a busy day, really hot and the waves were good! We had a good crowd, and most of them stayed all afternoon. McKevlin’s sold out of their paint pen packs and moved quite a bit of Drew merchandise. Wiggs got kids to paint, and we had some family & friends show up. Folly Beach is a cool place…..READ ON:

It was a fun vibe, and Drew had shop girl Perry help paint the board. Then an old friend, Dwight showed up and Drew put him to work, too.
Jason Wheeler and Dana from Carolina T.V. NOW! came and filmed portions of Drew’s painting demo. (It will air on Channel 33 next week-click here and scroll down to “Drew Brophy” to watch the clip.)
Drew’s vice principal from high school came, Wiggs got grommies to paint, and more. READ ON:

Boards and Waves Expo, Daytona Beach - Like a surf trade show, only it’s open to the public! http://www.boardsandwaves.comEVENTS
What went down: We had a kick-ass booth showcasing new surfboard laminates of Drew’s art on skillfully-crafted Island Inpired Surfboards (by Todd Sutz), as well as our new DVD, skateboard decks with Sector 9, posters, and lots more.
The waves were pumping, and everyone had a blast! We partied hard & surfed hard. It was so much fun!
We also held painting demos and a business of art seminar. Famed artist Mark Longnecker joined us and he and Drew painted a board together. Read on:

We drove from Manhattan to Long Island (damn long drive, lots of tolls) to Unsound Surf. Drew was bummed that there wasn’t time to surf, though the waves were really small anyway.
A lot of people showed up for the painting demo - Drew had fun talking to everyone and answering their questions.
A grom named Drew showed up and his Dad showed us his paintings that were inspired from our Drew’s DVD. It was cool to see!
Here’s the finished board!
