Our workshop was held at Todd & Cate Sutz’ Island Inspired Surf Shop in Myrtle Beach. We had people travel from as far as Miami and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for it! (Thanks for making the trip, Pamela and George)

A 6 hour workshop just isn’t enough time! People who came had a blast, they learned hands-on from Drew how to fine tune their paint pen techniques. Most of the people are talented, seasoned artists! Read on:

Dr. David Powers (“doc”) is an interesting guy…..he’s big on personal responsibility and isn’t afraid to shout it! Go to his blog!

Check out the awesome projects! Pamela & Jeremy painted surfboards, George Borges painted a 3 part masterpiece, Randy discovered he actually does have talent, Doc found his inner Dr. Suess, and Ashley painted an awesome turtle!

Oh yeah, Chuck went dark and created a scary skull, and Eileen created fun fish, and best of all, Perry’s own distinct style came out in her painting of a rasta character with dancing musical notes.

We drove from Manhattan to Long Island (damn long drive, lots of tolls) to Unsound Surf. Drew was bummed that there wasn’t time to surf, though the waves were really small anyway.

A lot of people showed up for the painting demo – Drew had fun talking to everyone and answering their questions.

A grom named Drew showed up and his Dad showed us his paintings that were inspired from our Drew’s DVD. It was cool to see!

We had a great time at K-Coast yesterday (Sat June 14th). Drew’s painting demo drew a great crowd of people who came to watch him paint and ask him questions….oh, and to get some free stuff!

Ocean City MD is one of my old stomping grounds from back in the day. It was great hanging with Chris and Mark “hairball” – they are awesome and the best part – they have just about every product of Drew’s in their store – the sunscreen, the posters, and a great deal of t-shirts. Oh, and of course the DVD’s.

An artist named AJ came and Drew put him to work helping him to paint the shop board that Drew was painting for K Coast. AJ has some crazy dreads in his hair. He was stoked to help…..
