TITLE: \u00a0NAZARE<\/h4>\n

SIZE: \u00a09″x 12″ paint pen on Fredrix Pro Series Archival Canvas Board.<\/h4>\n

Rarely do I ever paint from a photo, but today’s painting was inspired by a shot\u00a0of Garrett McNamara surfing a\u00a0huge wave at Nazare. \u00a0I’m fascinated by the immensity of this wave.<\/h3>\n

In my painting, it looks like I exaggerated the size of the wave, but I didn’t.<\/h3>\n

Nazare is a big wave surf spot in Portugal.\u00a0 Last week Garrett slayed that wave; it may well be one of the biggest waves ever ridden.<\/h3>\n

I’ve surfed with Garrett over the years. \u00a0We\u00a0are about the same age, and he\u00a0inspires me\u00a0to know that like him, I can still push the limits of riding big waves, too.<\/h3>\n
