\"MariaMost of you\u00a0know\u00a0me for my surf art. \u00a0These past few years I’ve been painting sacred geometry themes.<\/p>\n

I want to explain why\u00a0and where I’m going with it. I also am excited to show you my latest series, which I exhibited last week at The\u00a0Conscious Life Expo.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0started working on these paintings a year ago (you can see all of them in the Gallery here<\/a>) and finally finished them the night before we did the installation at the expo.<\/p>\n

I want to share the meaning behind each piece with you, so\u00a0I’m going to send you one\u00a0newsletter for each painting with its description, over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

But first, how I got into this new work:<\/p>\n

WHY SACRED GEOMETRY AND HOW IT’S TIED INTO TO MY SURF ART:\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Since I was a kid I have always been fascinated with Nature, \u00a0playing in the forest and surfing on the seashore.<\/p>\n

My love of surfing gave me a deep connection to the vibration of the earth and\u00a0the waves.<\/p>\n

As a surfer I have had the privilege of chasing waves to some the most beautiful places on earth, fulfilling the dreams I had in my youth.<\/p>\n

Every surfer becomes an amateur\u00a0meteorologist, chasing storms around the globe in the hope of finding these waves.<\/strong> This of course has been the inspiration for my art for the past 30 years.<\/p>\n

There is one thing present in almost every painting of mine;\u00a0the sun and the waves.<\/p>\n

This new series of paintings “Exploring Sacred Geometry<\/a>” is simply an extension of my interest in the sun and the waves.<\/p>\n

As an artist I notice patterns, compositions, and light. Nature has very specific patterns that are consistent in the very small and very large scales<\/strong>. I would see them in the waves and all of nature.<\/p>\n

I began \u00a0studying the sun to understand how it affects us and our weather. That led me to planetary physics, then on to astrophysics and quantum physics. <\/strong>\u00a0I’ve been driven to learn as much as I can and I study these subjects daily.<\/p>\n

I feel the best way for me to understand complex ideas is to paint them.<\/strong>The concepts that I have learned have helped me to better understand how everything works.<\/p>\n

My plan\u00a0is to continue to grow as an artist and articulate these ideas for others to learn and enjoy.<\/u><\/p>\n

Don’t worry, I will continue to\u00a0do my surf paintings, but I want everyone to know that I have so \u00a0much more to share as an artist.<\/strong><\/p>\n
