\u00a0We started to realize, too late, that maybe we made a mistake committing to this drive.<\/p>\n But, in typical Brophy fashion, we said,\u00a0“we can handle it.”\u00a0 And so far, it’s been fun.\u00a0 (so far….)<\/p>\n Gotta have Starbucks for the road!<\/p><\/div>\n Day 1 – Left San Clemente an hour later than planned – at 6:18.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0The stop at Starbucks slowed us down, because we run into too many people we know there, and they all wanted to check out the van!<\/p>\n This sums up the Drive:<\/p>\n *Endless, straight roads<\/p>\n Saguaro Cactus Everywhere!<\/p><\/div>\n *Saguaro Cactus’ a plenty<\/p>\n *Mexican radio stations (our first few hours were literally a stones throw from the Mexican border)<\/p>\n *Dry dry dry dry HEAT<\/p>\n *We learned how to handle pulling a U-Haul trailer (somewhat)<\/p>\n *The coolest thing about driving this Escape\u00a0camper van<\/a>?\u00a0 We converted the back so that we could take turns lounging on the queen sized bed.\u00a0 Nice!<\/p>\n<\/a>Every person we told that we were driving to our Surf Expo EXHIBIT <\/a>from California to Florida said “Wow, that’s crazy”.<\/p>\n
