25 Feb Exploring Sacred Geometry Series – Exhibit at Conscious Life Expo Los Angeles
Most of you know me for my surf art. These past few years I’ve been painting sacred geometry themes.
I want to explain why and where I’m going with it. I also am excited to show you my latest series, which I exhibited last week at The Conscious Life Expo.
I started working on these paintings a year ago (you can see all of them in the Gallery here) and finally finished them the night before we did the installation at the expo.
I want to share the meaning behind each piece with you, so I’m going to send you one newsletter for each painting with its description, over the next few weeks.
But first, how I got into this new work:
WHY SACRED GEOMETRY AND HOW IT’S TIED INTO TO MY SURF ART:
Since I was a kid I have always been fascinated with Nature, playing in the forest and surfing on the seashore.
My love of surfing gave me a deep connection to the vibration of the earth and the waves.
As a surfer I have had the privilege of chasing waves to some the most beautiful places on earth, fulfilling the dreams I had in my youth.
Every surfer becomes an amateur meteorologist, chasing storms around the globe in the hope of finding these waves. This of course has been the inspiration for my art for the past 30 years.
There is one thing present in almost every painting of mine; the sun and the waves.
This new series of paintings “Exploring Sacred Geometry” is simply an extension of my interest in the sun and the waves.
As an artist I notice patterns, compositions, and light. Nature has very specific patterns that are consistent in the very small and very large scales. I would see them in the waves and all of nature.
I began studying the sun to understand how it affects us and our weather. That led me to planetary physics, then on to astrophysics and quantum physics. I’ve been driven to learn as much as I can and I study these subjects daily.
I feel the best way for me to understand complex ideas is to paint them. The concepts that I have learned have helped me to better understand how everything works.
My plan is to continue to grow as an artist and articulate these ideas for others to learn and enjoy.
Don’t worry, I will continue to do my surf paintings, but I want everyone to know that I have so much more to share as an artist.
Thanks for being a part of this journey, Maria and I appreciate it!

I love your work but why beat around the bush and just tell the people the REAL truth… you are a FREEMASON which is why you are constantly putting “The All Seeing Eye” and Pyramids on tons of your art work. And of course Freemasons are obsessed with Sacred Geometry.
I love sacred geometry also though the pyramid and all seeing eye stuff you have in your paintings is just out of control. Funny thing is people are soo dumb, they probably won’t even notice it(how many buyers actually bought your paintings and don’t even know what I’m talking about?!?! LOL)
