I’ll be painting a vintage Fender Guitar at the NAMM Show, the trade show event for the Music Industry.
I’ve painted a lot of guitars for different musicians. This time, it’ll be live in the Aerial 7 booth, where we are rolling out my new Aerial 7 “DIY” paint your own headphones!
Where: NAMM Show, Anaheim, CA – Aerial 7 Booth #7007
When: Friday, Jan 20th – all day
What: Live painting of a vintage Fender guitar and poster signing/give away
Why: It’ll be for charity, of course
It’s rare that you can get more than a couple of the most influential surf artists together in one room at the same time – a little like herding cats!
But, Surf Aid figured out how to do it.
A Board Art Benefit event will be held January 21, 2012 at The Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery in Solana Beach.
Twelve unique boards, shaped and painted by some of the top living California surf artists, will be on display from 6-9pm. There will also be live, collaborative art from 12-5pm.
Funds raised will directly support SurfAid’s humanitarian efforts on the Mentawai and Nias islands in Indonesia.
The surfboard painting I did for this awesome event is called PERCESSION and it’s the first surfboard I’ve painted all the way around – so it’s different (special).
IF YOU CAN’T ATTEND but want to pre-bid on my PERCESSION surfboard (photo to the left), please email info@drewbrophy.com to make arrangements!
You can check out all the boards here …

Right now, only airing in Southern California and Arizona, to “only” 4.2 MILLION households! But we are working to get it nationwide, and will keep you posted on that.

Ask Drew Brophy (and Maria) Free Audio answering Art Licensing Questions
Artist Drew Brophy and his wife and marketing guru, Maria, answered your questions about art licensing on January 19, 2011. If you missed it live, don’t despair! Click on the link at the bottom and listen now!
Drew and Maria Brophy know art licensing. Drew is best known for his wild, crazy surfboard designs (he has painted thousands) but that is just a fraction of the artwork that he creates. If you ask Drew what he does for a living, he’ll say “It’s my job to make thing look cool.”
Drew has been a professional artist for over 20 years, making his art available to many great companies to make things look cool, including tiki sculptures, skateboards, wakeboards, bikes, shoes, clothing lines, fabric designs, greeting cards, children’s books and more. His wife, Maria, is the business mind behind the brand and we will have both the Brophys on the line!
