Island Inspiration and Hinano Tahiti

Island Inspiration and Hinano Tahiti

Drew has always loved surfing Teauhupo’o, one of the best waves in the world.

So when Teva and Aja of Hinano Tahiti approached Drew to create artwork for their apparel line, he was excited.

Hinano is Tahiti’s most popular brand of beer brewed by Brasserie de Tahiti since 1955.

If you’ve ever been to Tahiti, chances are you’ve had yourself some Hinano brew.

Hinano Tahiiti, owned by the same company, is an apparel brand that celebrates the island lifestyle.  Both brands share the beautuiful Vahine as their symbol logo.

Since Tahiti is one of Drew’s favorite places, it was easy for him to paint a few pieces exclusively for Hinano Tahiti’s 2011 collection.

Inspired by his time on the Tahitian Islands, Drew created a series of paintings for this collection, including WALL OF SKULLS, VAHINE and THE TREE OF LIFE.

It was fun for me to see Drew create this collection, because he was so inspired to paint these images, that it didn’t seem like work to him.  He thinks that TREE OF LIFE is one of the best paintings he’s done.

All of the paintings have become a part of the original art collection of Hinano Tahiti at their Costa Mesa, CA location.  Prints will be available soon on this website.

The clothing will be available in fine retailers this next spring and summer.  I can’t wait for us to get our samples!

IF YOU’LL ATTEND SURF EXPO IN JANUARY 2011:  Hinano Tahiti will be showing the Drew Brophy clothing line at Surf Expo.  They are generously giving away posters of Drew’s VAHINE painting to everyone who visits their booth.  Drew will be signing posters at Expo on Friday, January 7th, from 2-4.

Below is a slide show of the Tahiti Collection artwork and some of the clothing:

Hey Erin, thanks for the comment! We don’t have Hinano stickers – but I’ll bet if you contact them directly they might send you some…
