Drew and family are in New Zealand for the month of February on a “surf-n-paint” tour!
With any luck, it will be mostly surfing, but some painting demos will be in order. We’ll be visiting surf shops and friends (like artist Royce McClure and wife Janet), and adventuring & bushwalking.

Come check out some of the best surf art in history! Bill Ogden is coming out of the cave for this one – Phil Roberts and Rick Rietveld will be showing off their work space, Drew’s got new paintings that will blow your mind! Rob Havassey and Heather Ritts’ art will be there, too.

This group painted some cool stuff!
Today’s event at the FINE ARTS WEEKEND at ART SUPPLY WAREHOUSE was a fun time! Drew spent the day demonstrating his techniques and giving away posters & stickers. Many in the audience painted along with him, and most just picked his brain for 3 hours. (His brain is a little sore right now….)
The Fine Arts Weekend is a celebration with major in store sales, artist demonstrations, drawings & raffles and an all around great day of inspiration. (more…)

Last Year's Craft Expo
A “SURF EXPO” FOR YOU! Open to the public, the Sacred Craft Surfboard Expo is being held in the Wyland Exhibit Hall, Del Mar Fairgrounds, CA. on October 11 & 12, 2008. There will be a lot of interesting exhibits to explore.
PAINTING SEMINAR WITH DREW: SUNDAY, OCT. 12, FROM 2-3 P.M. Drew will demonstrate paint pen techniques and answer all your questions. He’ll also give out some stickers & posters!

Our workshop was held at Todd & Cate Sutz’ Island Inspired Surf Shop in Myrtle Beach. We had people travel from as far as Miami and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for it! (Thanks for making the trip, Pamela and George)

What Went Down: It was a busy day, really hot and the waves were good! We had a good crowd, and most of them stayed all afternoon. McKevlin’s sold out of their paint pen packs and moved quite a bit of Drew merchandise. Wiggs got kids to paint, and we had some family & friends show up. Folly Beach is a cool place…..READ ON:
It was a fun vibe, and Drew had shop girl Perry help paint the board. Then an old friend, Dwight showed up and Drew put him to work, too.
