Today’s Painting is the 10th of 20 in this #20×20 Series, titled 1111,  11″ x 14″ on Canvas board, medium Uni Poscas Paint Pens.

For the past few years I’ve been seeing number 11:11 constantly.  I’ll just look down at my clock, and it will read 11:11, or I’ll see it in something else.

Some say that 11:11 is a Master number and that seeing it frequently creates synchronicities in your life.  Seeing it reminds me to pay attention and enjoy the simple things in life.

This is a rich man in the painting; he’s free to dream on the beach without a care in the world.  Focus on what is important, what is real, change is coming.

Today’s Painting is the 9th of 20 in this #20×20 Series, titled THE KEY IS TO LISTEN,  11″ x 14″ on Canvas board, medium Uni Poscas Paint Pens.

This is about the idea of being connected to the world and the Universe and all things in it.  By listening, I don’t mean with your ears or seeing with your eyes.   I mean being connected in a way that the human race has forgotten.

I feel that everything is alive, full of energy and in some ways if we could just learn to tap into it, we would be able to understand much more.   And with that understanding comes clarity about what’s really important in life.

Too many people are so pre-occupied with things in the fake world that they detach from the natural world.

As an artist and a surfer, I want to tap into the energy of the natural world.  I’ve learned to listen and notice the subtleties and I’m getting better at it.  The more I tap out of the fake world, the more in tuned to the natural world I become.

Today’s Painting is the 3rd of 20, titled TUNING INTO THE UNIVERSE 18x 24 on Canvas, Uni Posca Paint Pens.

This painting is a little different  for me – I’m transitioning my art into another area that I’m really interested in, which is the science of energy, vibrations and waves.  This painting captures some of that.

Understanding that waves are everything – light, energy, vibrations;  I think surfers are more in tune to the Universe then most people.
There’s something about riding waves that taps you into the energy of the Universe.I painted this to illustrate the idea behind that.
