I’ll be painting a vintage Fender Guitar at the NAMM Show, the trade show event for the Music Industry.

I’ve painted a lot of guitars for different musicians.  This time, it’ll be live in the Aerial 7 booth, where we are rolling out my new Aerial 7 “DIY” paint your own headphones!

 PRLog (Press Release) – Nov, 2011 – Escape Camper Vans has teamed up with CHALK Gallery to provide an Escape Artist exhibit and a live, on-site van painting for artists including Drew Brophy, Cre8, Jim Darling, Mark Longenecker, Haste, DJ Neff, Mark7,HEX, Siner, Justin Mitchell, and CANLOVE.

Escape Camper Van rents hundreds of wildly decorated vans, which are painted by some of the best surf, street and tattoo artists from Southern California and Florida.  The artists are given total freedom to paint anything they want on the vans, which makes for a wild variety of paintings that travel the country on wheels.

The Escape Artist show was created to spotlight their more personal works on canvas, surfboards and other mediums, as well as a representative painted van from each artist.  The painted vans will line the street of Venice Blvd.

The public is invited to watch as the artists team up and collaborate on a van painting, live, using mediums including spray paint, airbrush and Uni Posca paint pens.

When:   Saturday November 12, 2011 from 5 pm to 10 pm (rain or shine)

What:   Art Exhibit and live collaborative van painting by the artists; food, beverages, and selected Escape Vans on display.  Music performances from Mark7 and Aquaries, with a video music set by DJ Skitz.

CANLOVE, a recycling program for graffiti art, will also be present with their own works created solely from the discarded spray cans donated from places like ESCAPE.

About: CHALK is a creative group made up of designers, writers, producers and strategic thinkers. The studio is dedicated to creating new and original content to be showcased in the gallery. THE PAINT SHOP WITH DREW BROPHY TV SERIES

We did it – we got our TV show on the air!  The Paint Shop with Drew Brophy gives a “behind the scenes look” at what a professional artist does, the trials and tribulations, etc.

Right now, only airing in Southern California and Arizona, to “only” 4.2 MILLION households!  But we are working to get it nationwide, and will keep you posted on that.

FESTIVAL OF CHILDREN – KID’S DRAWING/PAINTING EVENT

Bring your kids to the South Coast Plaza Festival of Children’s event and let Drew show them how to draw and paint!

WHEN:  Sunday September 25, 2011 Noon – 3 p.m.

WHERE:  Carousel Court, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA

WHAT:  Working from pages out of his book HOW TO DRAW WITH DREW BROPHY, Drew will show kids how to draw some of his favorite fish characters, beach scenes and other elements such as flames, flowers and custom lettering.

Fredrix Canvas is donating fun cut-outs to paint on, and Uni Posca paint pens will be the medium!

We are taking THE PAINT SHOP TV SHOW live to Sacred Craft Consumer Surfboard Expo this weekend in Santa Cruz!

Two painting demonstrations will be given by Drew and filmed on-site for our show THE PAINT SHOP WITH DREW BROPHY.

Drew’s demonstrations are designed to share surfboard painting techniques that can be used by both the novice and the experienced artist.

Sat. March 19 Noon to 1:00 p.m: Drew will give a Graffiti-style painting demonstration and will show how to customize your own surfboard with a few cans of spray paint and stencils. Demonstration will be held at the SurfAide Shaping Bay.

Sun. March 20 Noon to 1:00 p.m: Drew demonstrates his medium of choice, Uni-Posca paint pens, on surfboards. He will share tried and true techniques and will discuss preparation, composition, color blending, and sealing.
