20 Jul MCKEVLIN’S SURF EVENT – FOLLY BEACH July 20, 2008
What Went Down: It was a busy day, really hot and the waves were good! We had a good crowd, and most of them stayed all afternoon. McKevlin’s sold out of their paint pen packs and moved quite a bit of Drew merchandise. Wiggs got kids to paint, and we had some family & friends show up. Folly Beach is a cool place…..READ ON:

18 Jul SURF THE EARTH Event – Pawley’s Island July 18, 2008
It was a fun vibe, and Drew had shop girl Perry help paint the board. Then an old friend, Dwight showed up and Drew put him to work, too.
Jason Wheeler and Dana from Carolina T.V. NOW! came and filmed portions of Drew’s painting demo. (It will air on Channel 33 next week-click here and scroll down to “Drew Brophy” to watch the clip.)

14 Jul Playing in the Swash, Myrtle Beach S.C. July 08
Myrtle Beach is our home base for the summer. There’s this cool little “swash” that gets filled in during high tide. Great for Wiggs and other kids to play in! lt’ also fun to paddle around in so you can see the fish and crabs……
Drew’s been telling me about this swash as long as I’ve known him. When he was a little boy he played here. He still does!

14 Jul BOARDS & WAVES EXPO Daytona Beach July 12 & 13, 2008

What went down: We had a kick-ass booth showcasing new surfboard laminates of Drew’s art on skillfully-crafted Island Inpired Surfboards (by Todd Sutz), as well as our new DVD, skateboard decks with Sector 9, posters, and lots more.
The waves were pumping, and everyone had a blast! We partied hard & surfed hard. It was so much fun!
We also held painting demos and a business of art seminar. Famed artist Mark Longnecker joined us and he and Drew painted a board together. Read on:
